Becky is a watercolor artist from Michigan who moved to New Jersey in 2010, and to Jersey City in 2013.
The name "Midwest Girl in the City" originated as a personal photo album by the artist when she moved from a small midwestern town to a big-city East Coast area. It represents a perspective of appreciating varying styles of life, and the beauty that exists in both. Because art often portrays an artist's perspective and interpretation of the world around her, this name was chosen for her blog as well as her art practice as a whole when she decided to pursue her art more seriously as a professional, continuing to represent the artist's appreciation of beauty in all aspects of life--city and country, slow and fast, and varying cultures and interests.
