Doug Madill is an artist who paints landscapes and also draws from the subways and the city streets. He trained at Pratt Institute in the early 1990's and has been living mostly in the New York City metro area for over 15 years. He cites his beginnings in art as a writer and poet at the age of 9, but visual art took on a stronger direction soon after. Influenced by a wide array of artists and art movements, he usually mentions surrealism and expressionism as his early, and most intimate forms of art that inform his creative life.
