Straddling the world between science and art, Frank Ippolito has worked as scientific illustrator for 30 years. An early adopter of new media, he moves freely between the worlds of traditional painting and that of the digital image. Illustration clients include Scientific American, The New York Parks Dept, and Audubon Society. His artwork hangs on exhibit at The American Museum of Natural History, and The National Zoo. As a fine artist, Frank explores the human form, both distilled and denatured, and it's place in the (un)natural world. He is particularly intrigued by archetypal imagery found on the edges of the human experience.
A musician and composer, Frank produced a number of soundtracks for the Hayden Planetarium. He is currently finishing work on his debut CD and regularly performs at venues in and around the Jersey City. Since moving to the area, Frank has hosted the monthly Spaghetti Sessions Songwriter Workshop in his loft in downtown Jersey City.
