Italian born Lorenzo Irico is a painter and mixed media artist living and working in New York and New Jersey.
He works in a personal and contemporary figurative style, with his subjects ranging from fictitious religious icons and pagan imagery to modern symbolism.
"Creation is for me the true virtuous object, and for that a real necessity. My work has been often described as mindful, ironic, and sometimes a bit naive. I’m fascinated by religious iconography, country fairs aesthetics, medical and botanical illustrations, baroque wallpapers, and most of all, life itself. I love the painted image, its mystical power and capability of transforming concepts and feelings into a gateway, like a visual vessel that carry the viewer to a higher place".
